This past weekend was another busy race weekend for our athletes. Our Sunday and Two day U10 racers finally had their first race. Thank you to all the parents for cheering on our little racers! Our U12+ racers that were representing Jozo this weekend also experienced some great results. We had over 22 athletes achieve top 10 results across the escarpment and surrounding area. Special congratulations to Zach Hyland (U14 D1) for a third place finish at Mansfield and qualifies him for Provincials! Congratulations as well to the U16 Jackals and Andrew Kendal (1st), Nicholas Swerhone (2nd) and Tess Leishman (2nd) for a fantastic race right here at Blue Mountain.
Ticket sales for the U12 & Up Banquet on March 5 are now closed!
Food allergies: Please send an email to Dayle Leishman if a member of your family coming to the banquet has a food allergy. Please provide the name of the individual (and if they are a racer, what team they are on) as well as the specific allergy. The deadline to send food allergy information to Dayle is Sunday February 7.

Family Day Pot Luck Apres - Sunday February 14
WHEN: 3pm to 6pm (immediately apres ski).
WHERE: Jozo Weider lunch room @ The Inn (by the fireplace)
WHAT: Gather with your fellow Jozo members for a very casual apres-ski and some conviviality. Alcoholic beverages must be purchased from The Inn – but please feel free to bring a hors-d’ouvres for the adults and/or snacks for the kids.
The season is short and we don’t have many opportunities to gather as a full club. So we please join us and share a few laughs with the rest of the Jozo Weider Ski Club.
Hope to see everyone on the 14th!
Men's Day Update
Jozo held an incredible men's day last Friday. We had a record turn-out and an outstanding day of skiing, conviviality and revelry. Big thanks to Ian Inch, Mark Wallgren and Matt Salhani for their hard work in pulling together a great event. Thanks also due to Rob Crossan and Rob Tankovich for weathering the winter conditions to offer coaching tips and help us all channel our inner-racer.
Anyone winning a prize requiring pick-up, please contact Ken Blakeley to make arrangements to collect your prize. Much thanks, Ken.
Ladies Day - New Date - March 4
Ladies Day is coming up on March 4th. Tickets are now on sale!! Look for any of the committee members at lunchtime in the Inn or by emailing Mareka Ellis-Smith or Steph Inwood. Club championships are taking place the next day so many of your racer(s) will be doing Friday training. Why not come and join us at Kaytoo for breakfast followed by a morning skiing, racing the gates if you want, a poker scavenger hunt and then lunch back at Kaytoo. We have arranged for entertainment and games at Kaytoo. For those who don’t ski, there is always the village and its attractions. Childcare will be available at the Inn or there is always gate training for your racers. Tickets are $135.
